FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What contaminants are in tap water?
Many all-pupose water supplies are treated with the biocidal sanitising agent chlorine; the clearing agent aluminium sulphate (suspiciously associated with Alzheimer's). There could be asbestos, copper, zinc and lead from pipes.

How long does it take to produce drinking water?
The SPRING FLOW Steam Distiller takes between 5 and 6 hours to turn town supply, tank or bore water into 4 litres of drinking water at its pure best.

Any filter required?
To make drinking water a
post-distillation carbon filter is recommended for finer taste (6 carbon filters included with unit).

For more information on what the filter does, please check out the info on carbon filters.

If making water for autoclaves/sterilizers the filter should not be used.

What does distilled water have left in it?
Pure H2O. It will have no radioactivity, salt, nitrates, fluoride, chlorine or any other contaminant in it. It is pH neutral.

What is the rubbish left in the bottom of the boiling chamber?
Those are the contaminants you are getting in the tap water.

What Voltage are the models supplied for?
All models are suitable for use with 230/240V electricty.

What is the electrical cost for the SPRING FLOW?
The power usage is 580W (for heater and fan) which is approximately NZ .11c per litre. Compare that to over $2 per litre for bottled water!

Do our bodies require the minerals from drinking water?
Some people have the mistaken belief that essential minerals are derived from the water they drink.
Yes, we do need organic minerals.
But, the source of minerals for the body is the food we eat or supplements - not the water we drink.

What's the warranty?
Spring Flow has a one year warranty for parts and labour.
